I am one of those... I keep my ticket stubs.
Here goes my run down of my favourite movies I have seen this year in the cinema.
The Artist
J. Edgar
Chronicle
Carnage
Young Adult
The Woman in Black
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
The Hunger Games (twice)
Cabin in the Woods
The Avengers
A Fantastic Fear of Everything
Red Lights
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Dark Knight Rises (twice)
Brave
Expendables 2
Lawless
Killing Them Softly
Looper
Sinister
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Ruby Sparks
The Hobbit (twice)
and I went to an all day Lord of the Rings-a-thon
A Top 10 out of them? Hmmmm...
Again in the order in which I viewed them, hey I am indecisive so its as decent a way as any to order a Top 10
The Artist
Young Adult
Avengers
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Dark Knight Rises
Brave
Looper
Sinister
Ruby Sparks/The Perks of Being a Wallflower (see... indecisive)
The Hobbit
and technically The Artist and Young Adult are 2011 movies but I saw them in the cinema this year, so you can give me a double with Ruby Sparks/The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
There's mine... yours?

Update on the 2013 Plan
The IMDB Top 250 List changes... all... the... time. Plan? Take a snap shot of it at the start of the year, and go from there, and if I'm actually successful by the end of 2013, take another snap shot of the list and try tick off some of the changes, cause there has got to be some mint movies, yes if you licked them they would indeed taste minty, coming out next year that will land a place in the Top 250.
To the top 250 List
I very much doubt I will do it in either ascending/descending order, maybe try to plan some of the movies for when they will be appropriate for the time of year, don't want to get to the middle of July and watch 'It's A Wonderful Life'.
See ya there New Years Day, and if I don't post before Christmas... Have a splendid one.
And remember only a ginger can call another ginger "ginger", just like only a ninja can sneak up on another ninja.

Plan for 2013
Ok so I got lazy... forgive me?
I had drafts of posts that I forgot to finish and post...
"I had a delightful day off work yesterday and boy do I love Tuesdays off. Why? Our local cinema's cheap ass day is Tuesday, so we went to see 3 movies.
First up was Sinister, followed by the movie we were meant to see last week but it was sold out 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' and finally we caught 'The Campaign'"
and
"I planned on writing almost daily as I would guide you through my horrorfest of october... and what a failure. Damn life getting in the way, and as of the last month, I'm working 6 days a week. Time to barely catch up on my tv shows and sleep... in that order. Yes tv is important. The Walking Dead and Dexter being up there ahead of sleep."
So you see, gentle reader, though we are into Black(eyed) Friday here in the UK, so by tonight you may be tanked up and looking for a fight with it being the last Friday before Chrimbo, and so not so gentle.
Also, still working 6 days a week. I was off this past Tuesday, saw The Hobbit for a second time, and I am not off work again until Christmas Day. I should be sleeping now, since I am working 10am-10pm tomorrow... today... Friday. Depends which side of the day you're looking at it from...
Anywhos, lets get this written... enough with my failure of October (Though I did watch my fair share of Horror Movies...

Why the confusion? He thinks there is only one, and I figured out he meant that atrocity that was the Roland Emmerich pile of non-Godilla crap. No, that thing will never be my Godzilla. Sorry to anyone who likes that movie... do those people exist?
Where were we? The IMDB Top 250... yes, that is clearly where we were.
I thought as a fun movie-a-thon, going through the ever changing IMDB Top 250 next year would be a delightful challenge, delightful as in all the movies should be good right? Right? Let's see... also it will be interesting for me to see how many I've seen already. Plus fun to tick off some of those "you should see" movies.
Care to join me?

2nd October
I got to be honest here, I aint doing so well in the #31NightsOfHorror
Second day in and I'm watching 'Dracula' again, but with a commentary. Yeah geeks like commentaries, and if you think you are a geek and don't listen to commentaries than you aint one... ok that's a lie, but you aint a geek like me.
Geek Like Me.. there must be a song called that somewhere on the TubeofYou right?
I started off todays viewing with 'Road to Dracula' off of the DVD, but if you don't have it, I found it online here. I love behind the scenes, interviews, documentaries on movies. I especially love commentaries and documentaries years and years after a movie has been made, I think more stories and history comes to light in a retrospective. Perhaps time makes the people involved more honest.
And my 3rd film will most likely be another Dracula movie in this DVD set.
As for actually watching a horror on a night in October, tonight aint the night either. I'm at work til Midnight. I'll try and get one in after work but I'm straight back in tomorrow morning and I do need to sleep. Gone are the days of Uni where I whacked out 217 movies in October back in 2008 or 163 in 2009. Damn life getting in the way of movie viewing. *shakes fist*
I would like to get through 100 this year, but I'm most likely gonna watch 50. Lets see how I go...

October 1st
I started the day off at 7.30am with 'Dracula' (1931) and now its late and I'm in from work, I fear that will be my only Horror for the 1st of October. Why? Did you see all the shows on from Sunday I gotta catch up on?
Dexter
Homeland
The Mentalist
Boardwalk Empire
Robot Chicken
The Simpsons
Bobs Burgers
Family Guy
American Dad
This does not leave time for Horror Movies. Although I tried to make up for it by listening to the 'Now Playing' Podcast on the way to and from work. I got through the 'The House of 1000 Corpses' and 'Devils Rejects' shows.
If you have stumbled upon this then I suspect you have already seen 'Dracula' and also know its a total 6 on the shempy meter. It's a classic, Bela is my personal favorite Dracula actor. I love Dwight Frye as Renfield. He makes the movie for me, sure Bela Lugosi is fantastic but its Dwight Frye who gets my personal nod of awesomeness. I'm looking forward to my viewing this month of 'Frankenstein' just for his portrayal of the character 'Fritz'. Yeah I'll be making my way through some of the Universal Monster movies before anything else.

I Could Not Physically Wait
My eyes needed to see some horror, not much, but some before it turned October here in the UK.
I started the day with Terminator, which even as a child, I did not find scary... but the follow up... I did. Robert Patrick chasing after Sarah, John and Uncle Bob sets my heart racing. He's got this run, this Tom Cruise style karate chopping the air sort of run... except its scary. Robert Patrick looks like a Shark. He's scarier than Bruce from Jaws. (Cause he's on land, and metal, liquid fraking metal that can form into sharp pointy stabbing objects of death)
Ok so over the past not being a child years that chase scene has not scared me, but today for the first time in years it got my heart pumping and me vocalising nonsense at the television, as you would in a horror film, or as Brenda does in Scary Movie.
It was during Terminator 2: Judgement Day that starting a blog again came to me, had my fair share over the years, or reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Flixter, both of which become spammy, and I DONT LIKE SPAM! (Congrats if you read that in a Monty Python-esque way)
I still do not know what movie to really kick off October with. Suggestions please, actual suggestions for the entire month please. But I did want to watch a horror themed movie tonight, and I opted with 'The 'Burbs' as it has been sitting in front of my television for 2 weeks. I picked it up whilst popping into Morrisons for yogurt on my way back from work one night... I mean for £2 I had to.
My first idea was to watch 'Hocus Pocus' cause bitches love 'Hocus Pocus' but that will have to be saved for later in the month, as close to Halloween as possible. If not actually on Halloween day itself. (Although Silent Hill: Revelation comes out on my birthday so we gotta go see that plus it'll be an Orange Wednesday too, woot for cheapness!)
But then I saw 'The 'Burbs' DVD looking at me... and I hadn't seen it since I was a child.

Damn Tom Hanks is awesome in this, he overacts just enough in certain parts. There's a part where Ray and Art are screaming and the camera pushes in and out repeatedly, its so aware, so over the top, you gotta laugh.
I give it a 4 on my scale. I don't know how this movie plays to someone that isn't a horror fan, or someone that didn't see it when they were a kid in the early 90s, but to me its a decent fun flick but not a classic.
Maybe this movie is one of the reasons I cannot look at nice looking suburban streets and not be fearful, I think Halloween has more to do with that, but its the scary in plain sight. The scary in normal life that is far more frightening to me than some monster, or something from outer space.
If you like Gremlins then dig up this lesser known, as far as I know, Joe Dante movie... follow it up with a viewing of The Hole too.

How I Rate A Mutha Licker
... and by "Mutha Licker" I mean Movies.
I have a 6-1 scale, out of 5 is too mainstream.
Woot (6)
Sweet! Awesome! Coolbeans! If you don't like it then I will presume you like Twilight and your opinion means nothing... ok I'm not that harsh. Mostly.
Your Talking Is Spoiling The Taste Of My Popcorn (5)
A good movie, so please STFU and let me watch... actually no, go away and let me watch this alone... its that good... so good that I don't want to watch it with you, but I will recommend you watch it... without me, and without your talking.
Meh (4)
'Tis ok, give it a go, don't blame me if you do not like it though but its a halfwayish decent movie. Nothing to go NedStarkRaving Mad about though.
So Bad That Its Funny (3)
Bad but I enjoy them. The cheesier the better... sometimes... and sometimes you just gotta laugh at the crappyness of a flick.
Popcorn Dumper (2)
I would rather tip my popcorn on the floor, leave the cinema and get a refill, if only to miss 5 minutes of the movie...
It's A Disaster, A DISTASTER!! Spelt With Two O's Like "Doom!" (1)
How?Why?asdfgh was this made?!

Cooey! Gentle Reader
It's coming up to my favorite time of the year... no not Talk Like A Pirate Day, that's been, and walked the plank Argh! or some such shiver my timbers nonsense.
Nope, its coming to October... you know when the grass is jeweled and the silk inside a chestnut shell, and jet planes are meeting in the air to be refueled .. oh yes, all the things I love so well... like horror movies, yes its #31NitesOfHorror time.
Sure, maybe you are like me and Horror is a part of your life, and you are already a full member of the #HorrorSquad but October is a time to celebrate and marathon horror like a mother bitch. (And I intend to do so, its sort of a tradition...)
I hope you, gentle reader, will follow my posts here and follow me on twitter for a spooky October.
