And the answer is...

Peter Capaldi.

My reaction went a lot like this...

"YES! YES! YES!" *unable to breathe* "Oh you beautiful beautiful man of Scottishness!" and then my mother was all "It's more important than a new Prime Minister or that Royal baby isn't it..." To me yes. But even I was "It's only a tv show... but I still couldn't be happier."

To be fair as soon as Zoe Ball was just getting ready to announce who was The Doctor, I realized I wasn't breathing... Welcome to the life of a Geek!

Then we just saw his hand and my mind was all "He's old and white... maybe it really is John Hurt cause where does he fit in all this and if not what if it really is Peter Capaldi but the internet said it might be so it won't be... Oh please don't be that old dude from Cutting It cause I don't know him let it be Malcolm fucking Tucker-" and then she said it and I jumped up and down a fair bit. Ahhhh!

I think I've spent most of the time since on Tumblr... doing shit like this...

And thinking about what a badass he's going to be... he can give the most intense stares... (check out the vid below when he is called a "bully" no really check out his magnificent sassy ass stare.) Fook I love him before the announcement and now I'm hyping him up to be in my heart as much as Christopher Ecclestons Doctor is... I love them all but he has a special place.

For those who don't know, my favourite thing Peter has done is play Malcolm Tucker in political comedy "The Thick of It"... he's bloody fantastic. And here's a video for those who haven't seen the show, or want to refresh in their minds just what we are getting for out next Doctor... also not for the faint of heart... :D

So in closing, I'm more than delighted with the Moffats choice for The Doctor,

bring on the 50th Anniversary special and bring on the regeneration at Christmas. (Oh and I am sad to see Matt going but at least we get him teaming up with Tennant before he bows out.)

and to hell with wanting it to be someone my sister would watch... cause she went out and didn't even watch the live special with us. Nor did she ask who it was when she returned, only asking "CC (for that's what she calls me... doesn't sound much like Rachel, I grant you, but she calls me it anyways) you look happy, you alright?" and when I simply answered "Yes." (because I was still thinking about Peter Capaldi) she told me that I looked like Sheldon.

The Ultimate Question...

Doctor Who?

Photo taken by me.

The time comes once more... there's to be a new Doctor. I'd be more than happy to wait until the Christmas Day episode to find out but that's not going to happen. And now I know we are all going to find out together on Sunday... I cannot wait!

I'm going to be glued to my tv on Sunday evening with the rest of the Whovian world to find out who is who next.

Wasn't it John Hurt at the end of the last episode? Or does he slot into the timeline before Christopher Eccleston. (Damn I loved me some "fantastic" Eccleston) Whatever, its sure to be a great 50th Anniversary episode and Christmas Changeover. And Moffat has promised to wrap his storylines up... But since we were given an episode called "The Name of The Doctor" and we got nowhere with that, I'm not holding my breath...

I still think his name is "Sweetie"

Here's what I'd like though... somebody I don't know. Yeah cast somebody I barely if not at all know. And if not that... someone from Harry Potter. Like
Tom Felton

Matthew Lewis

or Harry Melling (Purely because he is the grandson of 2nd Doctor Patrick Troughton) or make the Doctor ginger but it does not have to be our very own Ronald Weasley, because The Doctor wants to be ginger, he's never been ginger. Hey give us ginger and a girl.

This is purely selfish on my part, I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I don't dislike it either. No but my sister is a big Harry Potter fan and casting someone from it would make her watch Doctor Who. Properly. Sure she's dabbled and owns a lovely Doctor Who bag but ever since David Tennant left nobody else in my family really watches it much. Shame on them, cause I bloody love Matt Smith.

I like to go into a new Doctor with little impressions, I want this new person to become the Doctor but if I can't have that give me someone who is a fantastic actor... and maybe someone my sister would watch. Who do you want to be The Doctor?

End of #RodriguezWeek

The only movies in the QT/RR fortnight I have not watched, that I wanted to, so far is 'Natural Born Killers', 'The Faculty' and 'Grindhouse'. I needed a break from movies and wanted to tick a TV show that had been lying around for ever off instead of reeling off some movies.

(It was kind of a #RodriguezDay not week, as I got most of the movies I wanted to watch done within Monday... freeing me up for ticking off some tv shows and random movies)

So in addition to whatever I watch weekly... 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, Cougar Town (to people who may still be put off by the name... just watch it!!!), New Girl, The Vampire Diaries (Guilty non-pleasure... I do not know why I watch this show... oh yeah, Damon....

So fair enough, instead of watching the show I could google image him for 42 minutes a week...

but nope nope nnyope I can't do that since I'm already so far into the show I may as well keep going with it.

In other non-tangent, Archer was awesome this week.. isnt it always?

I watched 'American Horror Story' wrap up this week, I may have gasped and fist-pumped (ironically... neh I owned my fist-pump, no shame) at the ending. I cannot (but inevitably have to) wait to see where they go for season 3 (and which cast members will return.) I ain't even going to post spoilers, but if you are have not watched this show and love horror, were a fan of Nip/Tuck please give this a go. #HorrorSquad

I watched the cancelled series 'The Gates', yeah about vampires and succubus's... succubi... succubus..? And witches and shit, cause there can't be a show just about one supernatural type of beings without brining everything else into it. Yeah this wasn't up to much, it was worth the one viewing but there is a reason some shows are cancelled, I still have not found the reason (low ratings I know) that Firefly was cancelled.

I also ticked off 'A Young Doctors Notebook'... recommended. I didn't know anything about it before watching... which is how I like to go into some tv shows/movies.

Also also ticked off was 'Outcasts' a BBC series, usually all I watch from my own country is the odd chat show, a few comedy panel shows, the odd sitcom (currently Miranda and Mrs. Brown's Boys, I was dead against Mrs. Brown's Boys until I gave in and watched it.) and of course being a geek... Doctor Who. (cue gratuitous picture that gives me warm fuzzy feelings of Matt Smith as The Doctor in the newest decked out TARDIS)

I'm having a Haven catchup. In the past two years I've always watched this show this way... entire season at a time, it's never broken onto my "watch weekly" list. There is no actual list. I enjoy the show, even more now Adam Copeland is featured more regularly.

My favourite QT/RR movies in order of Awesomeness (imo, obviously it's not gonna be in somebody elses opinion now is it.)

Deathproof
Kill Bill
Django Unchained
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Inglorious Basterds
Jackie Brown

Planet Terror
From Dusk Till Dawn
The Faculty
Machete
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Desperado
Spy Kids
Sin City

Disagree? I know I would with my list, I doubt its a popular opinion... Spy Kids before Sin City? I don't understand it either, I don't even own a Spy Kids movie but I like them more than the Sin City movie I do own. I make no sense.

What's your favourite QT/RR movies?
