Good review. It's a lot of style, but it's a fun-loving style that really had me involved the whole time. One of, if not, my favorite musical of all-time.
Good choice for a favourite, I don't know if I have a fav musical... I figure I go through phases, recently I've been listening to Little Shop of Horrors a lot on my iPod (yes I'm a soundtrack geek) but I'd never say its my fav.
I loved Moulin Rouge back when I was in the late years of high school, we watched it repeatedly... I've still got in on VHS geez, but upgraded to the DVD steelbook... havent upgraded it to BD.
This is an uncannily fair review. I have to admit that the whole movie put me on "style overload." So much so that I never even managed to finish watching it...ice cream headache anyone?
:D I guess some directors bring so much of their own style while others put the story first and concentrate on serving the story rather than the "oooh pretty!"

What's your favourite song in it??
I reckon mine is the Elephant Love Medley.
